FJA are recruiting on behalf of a leading service provider in the utilities industry for an experienced Solutions Engineer to strengthen their solution department team.

Solutions Engineer role:
- As a Senior Solutions Engineer, you will lead technical teams in developing innovative and sustainable water and wastewater solutions, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements.:
Solutions Engineer responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, timely technical and commercial proposals that meet client needs and adhere to quality assurance and governance standards for both competitive tenders and direct awards.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their specific project needs.
- Develop, communicate, and gain approval for project strategies.
- Define project scope and coordinate solutions with multidisciplinary teams.
- Manage Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) contracts under NEC4.
- Identify, source, control, and disseminate project information to enable teams to develop and price solutions.
- Coordinate proposed solutions with specialist teams (Planning, Enabling, Construction, and Commissioning), ensuring compliance with health, safety, sustainability, quality, and environmental standards.
- Support the development of project programs for future Design and Build (D&B) contracts.
- Manage company risk associated with each tender and ECI.
- Manage external stakeholders involved in projects.
Solutions Engineer requirements:
- Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Environmental, or Process) or equivalent qualification; or Project Management qualification (essential).
- Experience in tendering, designing, and/or delivering water treatment, wastewater treatment, or bioresource projects, with the ability to influence design, constructability, material selection, and optioneering (essential).
- Experience with water industry processes, equipment, and services (essential).
- Experience with projects managed under NEC4 or other UK water industry contract conditions (essential).
- Excellent computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office (essential).
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently (essential).
- Membership of a relevant professional institution (desirable).
- Experience in tendering or managing medium to large water industry projects (capital value >£10M), project batches, or design-only projects(desirable).
- Experience with project management software (MS Project or Primavera P6) (desirable).
- NEC4 training (desirable).
- Full UK driving license (desirable).
