FJA are recruiting on behalf of a leading service provider in the water and wastewater industry for an experienced Project Manager to strengthen their delivery team.

Project Manager Role
- Reporting directly to the Senior Project Manager or Operations Manager, you will have full responsibility for managing the design, construction, commissioning and handover of water and wastewater projects.
- You will ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with technical specifications, programme requirements and commercial targets.
- The role involves leading multi-disciplinary project teams, coordinating resources and maintaining strong working relationships with clients, joint venture partners, subcontractors and suppliers.
- You will play a key role in maintaining customer satisfaction and protecting the company’s reputation across all project interfaces.
Project Manager Responsibilities
- Promote exceptional health & safety standards across direct and subcontracted workforces.
- Ensure the Business Management System (BMS) is implemented and adhered to throughout the full project lifecycle, from tender handover to final completion.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships at all levels, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Maintain effective relationships with joint venture partners and suppliers.
- Ensure sufficient trained personnel are allocated to the project and that all team members clearly understand their responsibilities.
- Review, approve and manage the Project Execution Plan (PEP), ensuring robust project planning, monitoring and control.
- Ensure detailed construction plans, method statements and supporting documentation are prepared, reviewed and approved prior to commencement of works.
- Ensure all project records required by the PEP are fully completed and available at contract completion.
- Ensure all site non‑conformities are reported and that associated cost impacts are identified and managed.
- Proactively manage all commercial aspects of the project, providing accurate forecasts, cost control and financial reporting.
- Apply strong project management practices from project inception through to end‑user acceptance.
- Prepare and present project updates at governance reviews, leading discussions on progress, risks, opportunities and performance.
- Maintain continuous professional development through external networking, conferences and professional engagement to remain current with industry best practice and innovation.
- Represent the business professionally in all internal and external interactions.
- Ensure quality, safety and environmental policies, procedures and targets are fully understood and implemented.
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of all technical disciplines involved in delivering water and wastewater design and build projects.
Project Manager Requirements
Essential
- Proven Project Management experience delivering multi‑disciplinary design and construction projects, ideally within the water industry.
- Degree or equivalent qualification in a construction, engineering or commercially related discipline.
- Project Management Qualification (PMQ) or equivalent.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with clients, stakeholders and end users.
- Delivery‑driven mindset with the ability to set targets and motivate multi‑disciplinary teams to achieve time, cost and quality objectives.
- Strong experience in project delivery, including planning, technical oversight and commercial management.
- Well‑developed strategic, operational, technical and leadership skills.
- Sound knowledge of construction contracts, ideally NEC and/or IChemE, with the ability to negotiate and administer effectively.
- Experience presenting at governance reviews in a lead capacity.
- Strong Risk and Opportunity Management experience.
- Working knowledge of CDM regulations and construction Health & Safety requirements.
Desirable
- Experience delivering water and wastewater treatment projects.
- Chartered status with an engineering, commercial or construction institution.
- NEC Project Manager Accreditation.
