Job Description

FJA are recruiting on behalf of a leading service provider in the wastewater industry for an experienced to SHEQ Advisor strengthen their team based across sites in the Brighton / Southern region.

SHEQ Advisor role:

  • You will report directly to the Head of SHEQ, providing advice, guidance and support to the SHEQ team across the region.

 
SHEQ Advisor responsibilities:

  • Understanding our approach to managing SHEQ risk and delivering best in class performance.
  • Maintaining a dynamic and driven approach to supporting SHEQ across the company.
  • Monitoring and reviewing the closure/completion of corrective actions to ensure that they deliver clear improvements and have been suitably and effectively implemented.
  • Organising audits and supporting the delivery and execution of SHEQ assurance audits.
  • Conducting accident/incident investigations and/or supporting investigations conducted by the Head of SHEQ.
  • Integrating within the wider project teams to understand day to day challenges.
  • Working with our clients to deliver collaborative approaches to SHEQ.
  • Exposure to the project management lifecycle of project delivery.
  • Highlighting opportunity for sustainable solutions.
  • Trending and analysis of key performance data.
  • Maintenance of our externally certified management systems.
  • Entry in to Confined Spaces may occasionally be required- the post holder will be required to obtain a Confined Spaces Entry training certificate.
  • Regular overnight stays will be required due to the geographical coverage.

 
SHEQ Advisor requirements:

  • IOSH or NEBOSH qualifications
  • Experience in the water / utilities sector would be a major advantage
  • Ability to collect, analyse and evaluate large volumes of data whilst maintaining data integrity.
  • Ability to identify trends in data and clearly articulate the issue or findings.
  • Proven experience of working as part of a SHEQ team.
  • Ability to interpret legislation and Approved codes of Practise.
  • Good organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work both as a team member and under own initiative.
  • Good communicator who’s comfortable engaging at all levels within the organisation.
  • Confidence to make decisions whilst recognising when appropriate to escalate issues or concerns.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills especially Visio, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Flexible approach to work in terms of both time and location
