FJA are recruiting on behalf of a leading service provider in the utilities industry for an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor
 
Location: Peterborough, hybrid working available.

Managing Quantity Surveyor role:

  • You’ll be responsible for commercial and cost management from project start to closeout, reporting to the Project Director.
  • Using your commercial expertise, you’ll challenge existing agreements and collaborate closely with the Project Director and team to make a lasting positive impact.

Managing Quantity Surveyor responsibilities:

  • Provide robust estimates aligned with scope, accounting for all risks and opportunities.
  • Manage the procurement process, ensuring strategies are agreed and tender procedures are correctly followed.
  • Oversee subcontractors to ensure compliance with contracts, including communications, payments, compensation events, and programme submissions.
  • Maintain strong cost management with accurate live forecasting and tracking of actual costs against estimates.
  • Keep precise, reliable records so financial data for audits and cost assurance is readily available.
  • Continuously improve processes and procedures to standardize the commercial team’s delivery.
  • Support the development of team members by sharing commercial knowledge and industry experience.

Managing Quantity Surveyor requirements:

  • Educated to Degree, HNC level, or equivalent.
  • Membership of RICS, CIOB, or CICES.
  • Proven experience managing multiple complex projects ranging from £100k to multi-million pounds, including team leadership, NEC contract administration, change management, procurement, risk and opportunity management, negotiation, estimating, and stakeholder engagement.
