FJA are recruiting on behalf of a leading service provider in the Water and Wastewater industry for an experienced to Senior Quantity Surveyor to strengthen their team.

Senior Quantity Surveyor role:

  • We are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Commercial team, based in Derby with hybrid working options. Reporting directly to the Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will take responsibility for the commercial management of one or more projects.

Senior Quantity Surveyor responsibilities:

  • Undertake quantity surveying responsibilities, managing projects and work packages effectively
  • Collaborate with design, construction, and supply chain teams to capture, analyse, and control costs
  • Work closely with clients to ensure business requirements are met
  • Oversee the main contract, ensuring all contractual notices and correspondence are identified and issued as necessary
  • Prepare and issue subcontract documentation
  • Support the management and performance monitoring of subcontractors
  • Manage the preparation and agreement of payment applications
  • Prepare project cost and value reports, budgets, and forecasts
  • Assist in the management and development of junior commercial staff
  • Maintain continuous professional development by participating in external networking, conferences, and industry groups to stay up to date with sector innovations
  • Promote a positive, solution-focused approach, providing open and constructive feedback
  • Perform other duties, training, or hours of work as reasonably required, consistent with the responsibilities of the role
  • Take all reasonable steps to ensure confidentiality and discretion in all matters

Senior Quantity Surveyor requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification
  • Currently pursuing, or already holding, chartered membership with a recognised professional institution
  • Experience within the utilities, civil engineering, or MEICA sectors
  • Familiarity with NEC4 contracts
