Job Description

FJA are recruiting on behalf of a leading service provider in the utilities industry for an experienced CCTV Survey Crew Leader to lead a 2-3-person team.

CCTV Crew Leader role:

  • The CCTV Crew Leader will oversee a small team conducting CCTV surveys of sewer networks, ensuring defects are accurately identified and high-quality data is delivered to clients.
  • The role requires an experienced leader capable of managing nationwide survey operations safely, efficiently, and to the highest professional standards.

CCTV Crew Leader responsibilities:

  • Lead CCTV drainage surveys in line with industry standards, ensuring accurate defect identification and data reporting.
  • Operate and maintain advanced CCTV inspection equipment to assess sewer networks efficiently.
  • Carry out outdoor work in all weather conditions, with flexibility for early starts, late finishes, and occasional weekend or night shifts.
  • Handle and move heavy equipment, including manhole covers, safely and effectively.
  • Work within confined spaces and on highways; Confined Spaces and NRSWA (Signing, Lighting & Guarding) certifications are advantageous.
  • Provide excellent customer service in a professional, client-facing role with clear communication always.
  • Maintain strong organisational and record-keeping skills, meeting deadlines with precision and attention to detail.
  • Contribute to the RPS AS&I team’s work supporting the UK Water Industry by delivering data that helps prevent flooding and pollution.
  • Conduct field surveys as part of a small crew, gathering and analysing information from wastewater assets such as treatment plants, reservoirs, and highways.

CCTV Crew Leader requirements:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to complete paperwork accurately and annotate plans.
  • Successful applicants must pass drug and alcohol screening and a DBS check.
  • Experienced in drainage-related work, with the ability to navigate sewer networks using GIS mapping systems.
  • Detailed understanding of public sewer networks and domestic drainage systems.
  • OS19X qualified (essential).
  • Proven CCTV drainage survey experience (essential).
  • Skilled in problem-solving, accurate record-keeping, and maintaining reliability and flexibility in all tasks.
  • Experience working in confined spaces and on highways (certifications preferred).
  • Holds a full UK driving license.
