Job Description
FJA are recruiting on behalf of a leading service provider in the wastewater industry for an experienced Project Engineer to strengthen their team.
This role is based in Hampton with hybrid working available.

Project Engineer role:
- Reporting directly to the Project Manager, you will support the Project/Construction Manager in coordinating an efficient and cost-effective plant design and procurement strategy
- You will ensure that information is issued promptly to enable construction, commissioning, and project handover in line with the Contract Programme, while providing accurate cost data for forecasts and the evaluation of variations
Project Engineer responsibilities:
- Ensure project costs remain within tender or approved variation allowances
- Submit all applications for payment accurately and on or before the required due date
- Support the development and implementation of the Project Management strategy
- Establish and maintain an organised contract filing system
- Assist in producing and monitoring the contract programme, including the preparation of progress reports
- Provide data to support the timely production of Operations and Maintenance (O&M) manuals
- Liaise effectively with subcontractors, suppliers, and site management to resolve design and procurement issues
- Assist in preparing construction completion and project handover documentation
- Undertake any other reasonable duties, training, or working hours consistent with the level of responsibility of the role
- Maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately
- Collaborate closely with design teams to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality, practical solutions
- Assess and implement innovative processes and solutions to improve project outcomes
- Contribute to monthly risk and opportunity schedules
- Ensure all designs are safe for construction, commissioning, operation, and maintenance
- Oversee and complete the capitalisation process accurately and efficiently
Project Engineer requirements:
- Basic Electrical or Mechanical engineering background
- Working knowledge of various conditions of contract especially NEC
- Engineering/ Technical qualification (HNC minimum) required
- Experience of supply chain expedition
- Knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes
- CDM & Health & Safety knowledge
