Job Description

FJA are recruiting on behalf of a leading service provider in the Utilities industry for an experienced Construction Manager to strengthen their construction team.

Construction Manager role:

  • Overseeing the health, safety, environmental, and sustainability aspects of construction projects
  • Ensuring compliance with all regulations and project deliverables.
  • Leading local construction teams to deliver projects efficiently and responsibly.

Construction Manager responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage construction teams to deliver projects on time and within budget whilst facilitating project kick-off meetings and conducing regular health checks
  • Responsible for the performance of suppliers in relation to safety, timeliness and quality including approving risk assessments (RAMS) TO ensure they are appropriate and adequate
  • Collaborate with the Lead Construction Manager to determine long-term and short-term resource requirements for labour, equipment, and materials
  • Foster a safe work environment where team members feel empowered to raise safety concerns and maintain full health and safety compliance
  • Prioritize zero waste and reduced embodied carbon in construction activities
  • Combine standard products with innovative techniques to maintain industry leadership

Construction Manager requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience or qualification in temporary works management or compliance
  • Proven project management experience
  • Relevant construction-related degree or equivalent
  • APMP or equivalent
  • Extensive experience delivering large-scale construction projects
  • Water/wastewater treatment industry experience
  • Strong knowledge of CDM and construction health and safety regulations
  • Result-orientated with strong communication skills
  • Strong strategic, operational, technical skills
