Job Description
We are looking for a Design Engineer – Mechanical based in Bristol.
You will report to the Regional Discipline Lead, providing high-quality Engineering Design services to minimize risks and maximize profits on turnkey and engineering contracts. You’ll coordinate designs and produce documents and drawings, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and contract standards.

Design Engineer – Mechanical role:
- Produce design layouts which are cost effective, meet the requirements of the specification and which can be constructed and commissioned effectively.
- Ensure that standard practices are utilised wherever possible.
- Provide estimates and feedback for proposals department.
- Work to procedures and processes to ensure the continuing development of the department.
- Monitor and review procedures, and write, update, and track efficient processes to ensure the smooth operation of the department.
- Coordinate designs with all internal and external disciplines to ensure design processes on the contract are aligned for its success.
- Work in a culture where customer satisfaction is seen as key to achieving other goals, with customers including end users and internal departments benefiting from our processes.
- Ensure designs consider environmental factors and fully comply with all health and safety requirements.
Design Engineer – Mechanical requirements:
- Understand the principles of water and sewage treatment.
- Relevant discipline Engineering HND (Minimum)
- Relevant discipline Engineering degree (Preferred)
- Ability to optimize designs and create cost-effective plant layouts.
- Ability to present technical proposals clearly, confidently and convincingly.
