Job Description
We are looking for a Design Engineer – Process based in Exeter.
You will report to the Principal Process Engineer, providing high-quality Engineering Design services to minimise risks and maximise profits on turnkey and engineering contracts.
This includes coordinating designs, producing documents and drawings, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and contract standards.

Design Engineer – Process responsibilities:
- Create cost-effective design layouts that meet specification requirements and can be easily constructed and commissioned.
- Follow procedures and processes to support the department’s ongoing development, while monitoring and reviewing them regularly.
- Write, update and monitor efficient procedures to aid the smooth running of the department.
- Coordinate designs with all internal and external disciplines to ensure seamless design processes that benefit the contract.
- Work in a culture where customer satisfaction is key to achieving other goals, recognizing that customers include both end users and internal departments benefiting from our processes.
- Ensure designs consider environmental issues and fully adhere to all health and safety requirements.
Design Engineer – Process requirements:
- Experience in interpreting and developing Process Flow Diagrams and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams within the process industry, with a strong understanding of water treatment principles.
- Minimum: HND in a relevant engineering discipline. Preferred: Degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Ability to optimise designs, develop cost-effective plant layouts, and present technical proposals effectively and convincingly.
