Job Description
FJA are recruiting on behalf of a leading service provider in the utilities industry for an experienced Human Factors Consultant to strengthen their team.
Location: Cumbria/Warrington – flexible on location.

Human Factors Consultant responsibilities:
- As a Human Factors Consultant, you will deliver results on multiple Human Factors projects with a variety of clients, whilst developing strong, long-lasting partnerships.
- You will lead the planning and execution of extensive, technical, and complex Human Factors assessments, ensuring they are both proportionate and fit for purpose.
- Your development will be supported through comprehensive training and mentoring from team members, alongside providing guidance in critical technical domains.
- You will be responsible for supporting the design and case/safety report assessments.
- Operational claim identification and substantiation
- HF design support
- HF project integration management
- HF support on safety assessment
- Human error identification
- Application of HF methods
- Resolution of operational issues
- Derivation and management of requirements
- HF verification and validation
- Application of a modern standard HF techniques and relevant good practice
Human Factors Consultant requirements:
- Significant experience in providing Human Factors support for nuclear or other high-hazard projects.
- A degree-level qualification in a relevant field, such as Human Factors, Ergonomics, Psychology, or Industrial Design.
- Pursuing chartership with the Chartered Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors.
- Excellent technical report writing skills
- Understanding and application of UK regulations and standards
- Knowledge of regulatory regimes
- Willing to travel to/ and work on clients’ sites
