Job Description

We are seeking a permanent Framework Lead Planner in Derby.
 
The Lead Planner will oversee project planning, manage the local team, and ensure water and wastewater projects stay on track. With a five-year programme, the role includes mentoring junior planners, offering hybrid work, competitive pay, and career growth, reporting to the Head of Planning.

Lead Planner role:

  • Create and manage comprehensive project plans throughout the entire project lifecycle.
  • Ensure project plans fully capture scope, resource needs, and dependencies.
  • Identify risks and opportunities, track the critical path, and provide guidance to the delivery team on potential changes.
  • Maintain planning standards and ensure adherence to MWH Treatment procedures, including implementing project and activity codes, managing baselines, producing programme narratives for client submission, and conducting regular schedule quality and integrity checks.

Lead Planner requirements:

  • Extensive experience in planning within the water industry.
  • Proven track record in managing a medium-sized planning team.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with Primavera P6.
  • Demonstrated leadership in collaborative planning, including schedule development, claims programme and contractual adjustments, effective communication of complex information, and the ability to perform under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • A proactive and innovative approach to problem-solving and team support.
  • A technical degree in a relevant field (preferred but not mandatory)
