FJA are recruiting on behalf of a leading service provider in the utilities industry for an experienced Leakage Technician

Leakage Technician role:
  

  • As a Leakage Technician, you’ll play a key role in minimizing water loss by identifying and addressing operational issues, including both proactive and reactive leak detection across the network.

  
Leakage Technician responsibilities:
  

  • Assess, diagnose, and recommend solutions to minimise leakage, ensuring regulatory compliance and client satisfaction through accurate leak pinpointing.
  • Achieve leakage detection and reduction KPIs within designated DMAs.
  • Attend R&M-requested excavations to assist with leak location.
  • Provide training and mentorship to assistant leakage technicians.
  • Manage general administrative tasks, including electronic timesheet submissions, weekly vehicle inspections, and defect reporting.
  • Prioritise workplace health and safety.
  • Foster and maintain collaborative relationships with colleagues, contractors, and clients.

  
Leakage Technician requirements:

  • Previous experience in this field is beneficial, but we provide comprehensive training in water network hydraulics, leak detection, and other key areas of the clean water sector.
  • You will learn and apply techniques like utility tracing, noise logging, and step-testing to gain hands-on experience in leakage monitoring and data analysis. A strong willingness to learn and adapt to new methods is essential.
  • Thrives under pressure, effectively managing conflicting deadlines while maintaining attention to detail and upholding high standards.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Efficient and accurate reporting.
  • Full UK/Irish Driving Licence.
