Job Description

FJA are recruiting on behalf of a leading service provider in the Utilities industry for an experienced Project Manager.
 
Location: Glasgow
 
This role is a temporary contract until March 2026.
 
Project Manager role:

  • Lead and manage leakage-related projects, ensuring successful delivery within budget, scope, and timelines
  • Work within a multi-disciplinary team on water and wastewater M&E capital maintenance and growth projects.
  • Ensure the safe delivery of projects while achieving commercial objectives and maintaining the highest standards of integrity and safety
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with Scottish Water at both project and framework levels
  • Manage and support the allocated team throughout all phases of the project lifecycle

Project Manager responsibilities:

  • Monitor project progress, identify potential risks and issue, and implement effective mitigation strategies
  • Oversee the performance of leakage technicians, ensuring work is completed on time and to specification
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of long-term leakage reduction strategies
  • Develop Tender, Design, and Construction Programmes, and manage these throughout the full project lifecycle
  • Review contracts and specifications, including verification of drawings, technical documents, and activity schedules
  • Support the procurement of subcontractors and materials, including the preparation of estimates and quotations
  • Manage Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements, including preparation and implementation of Construction Phase Plans and Project Quality Plans in line with CDM Principal Contractor responsibilities

Project Manager qualifications and skills required:

  • Proven experience in project management within the water and infrastructure sectors
  • Strong expertise in leakage detection methods and techniques
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships
  • Skilled at working under pressure and delivering to tight deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a results-driven approach
  • Demonstrated track record in project management, supported by an engineering or supervisory background
  • Comprehensive knowledge of project planning, specification, design, procurement, and commissioning processes
  • Solid understanding of equipment and materials across Mechanical, Electrical, and Civil Engineering disciplines
  • Familiarity with NEC4 contracts, QA systems, and Health & Safety procedures
  • Full UK driving licence
