FJA are recruiting on behalf of a leading UK-based provider of integrated water and wastewater solutions for an experienced Project Manager to strengthen their delivery team
 
This role is based in Peterborough with hybrid working available

Project Manager role:

  • As the Project Manager, you will lead a team in developing and delivering solutions to ensure multiple projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality, water, and safety standards, as well as all relevant legislation and Alliance governance processes
  • You will oversee projects throughout their entire lifecycle, ensuring effective management of operational requirements, resolving challenges constructively, and achieving positive outcomes for all stakeholders

Project Manager responsibilities:

  • Ensure full CDM compliance across all schemes within the TOTEX Delivery Process through regular audits, reviews, and peer assessments, driving a strong ‘Zero Harm’ culture
  • Build and maintain a high-performing team where engineers, commercial staff, and other professionals are empowered, motivated, and supported to find creative solutions to challenges
  • Convert programme-level strategies into clear, achievable objectives, ensuring all team members understand their responsibilities and contribute to project success
  • Take responsibility for managing projects through their entire lifecycle, from initial scoping and design to construction, handover, formal completion, and resolution of any post-handover issues
  • Work closely with Commercial and Planning teams to ensure accurate forecasting of costs and resources, addressing risks proactively or escalating them where necessary
  • Review and approve proposed project solutions to confirm they are safe, commercially viable, and aligned with project requirements
  • Ensure all projects meet required deliverables and key milestones, including Project Rehearsal and Fit for Assembly stages
  • Champion an open, transparent, and collaborative working culture that promotes communication, teamwork, and knowledge

Project Manager requirements:

  • Recent experience in the water industry with strong knowledge of Health & Safety, drinking water standards, and CDM regulations, supported by an IOSH qualification.
  • Experienced in managing multiple projects and ideally holds an APMP qualification.
  • Confident in professionally challenging stakeholders using excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience working within a commercial framework and knowledge of NEC Option C contracts, enabling timely, business-focused decision-making.
  • Proven track record in managing teams within performance-driven environments.
  • Able to step back from day-to-day details and work strategically when required.
  • Skilled at empowering teams by delegating tasks, providing trust, support, and guidance.
