FJA are recruiting on behalf of a leading service provider in the utilities industry for an experienced Senior Fire Safety Engineer to strengthen their team.
Location: Warrington and West Cumbria, nationally / home based.

Fire Safety Engineer responsibilities:
- Conventional fire engineering assessments/ fire safety strategies
- High hazard fire scenario analysis
- Delivering fire safety strategies in a wide range of other sectors, including industrial, residential and other commercial areas.
- Conducting fire hazard analysis workshops and performing fire modelling, including interpreting the results.
- Assessing the hazards and risks of fire and its effects and evaluating prevention and protective measures necessary to limit the likelihood and consequences of fire
- Technically understanding the design, installation, maintenance requirements for fire detection, suppression and control philosophies
- Being part of a fire engineering project team or technical lead as the project requires
- Engaging with relevant stakeholder and regulators
- Traveling to client sites across the UK and occasionally overseas to ensure client requirements are fulfilled.
- Building and maintaining long-term relationships or frameworks with clients, while understanding the commercial impact of decisions and identifying opportunities for business growth.
Fire Safety Engineer requirements:
- Proven track record for the technical delivery of fire engineering reports
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Fire Engineering or other Engineering discipline
- Experience of working in an organisation delivering fire engineering projects, preferably in a consultancy setting
- Detailed understanding/ knowledge of UK regulations and standards (e.g. Approved Document B, BS 9999, BS 9991, PD 7974, etc.)
- Knowledge of other regulatory regimes
- Confident in liaising with design teams, clients, local approving authorities, contractors, and other third parties as required
- Excellent numeracy, report writing and time management skills
