FJA are recruiting on behalf of a leading UK-based provider of integrated design and delivery solutions for the water and wastewater industry for an experienced to Senior Quantity Surveyor to strengthen their commercial team
This role is based in Southampton

Senior Quantity Surveyor role:
- In this role, you will report directly to the Commercial Manager and take full responsibility for the commercial management of assigned project(s) — ensuring effective cost control, contract administration, and commercial delivery throughout all stages of the project lifecycle.
Senior Quantity Surveyor responsibilities:
- Carry out all quantity surveying duties relating to the management of projects and work packages
- Work closely with design, construction, and supply chain teams to capture, analyse, and control project costs
- Collaborate effectively with the client to ensure all business objectives and project requirements are met
- Administer the main contract, ensuring all contractual notices and correspondence are identified, prepared, and issued as required
- Prepare and issue subcontract documentation in line with project and company procedures
- Support the management and performance monitoring of subcontractors to ensure quality, cost, and time objectives are achieved
- Oversee the preparation and agreement of applications for payment in accordance with contractual terms
- Produce accurate project cost and value reports, budgets, and forecasts to support commercial decision-making
- Contribute to the management, guidance, and professional development of junior commercial team members
- Maintain professional growth through participation in external networking events, industry groups, and continuous learning to stay updated on sector developments and innovations
- Promote a positive, solution-focused approach, providing open and constructive feedback to colleagues and stakeholders
- Undertake any additional duties, training, or working hours as reasonably required and consistent with the responsibilities of the role
- Ensure all activities are conducted with the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism
Senior Quantity Surveyor requirements:
- Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline
- Working towards, or holding, chartered membership with a recognised professional institution
- Proven experience within the utilities, civil engineering, or MEICA sectors
- Strong working knowledge and practical experience with NEC3 contracts
