Job Description
FJA are recruiting a Service and Calibration Engineer for a leading service provider in the food and confectionery industry.
Location: Rochdale, Lancashire.

- Core hours: Monday – Thursday 8.30am -5.00pm, Friday 8.30am – 2.00pm
Service and Calibration Engineer role:
- Responsible for servicing and calibrating food and confectionery process systems. This involves both on-site and office work, requiring travel within the UK and internationally.
- The role demands flexibility, including long hours and weekend work, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Service and Calibration Engineer responsibilities:
- Ensure tasks are accurate and error-free whilst maintaining politeness towards colleagues and customers.
- Understand and comply with the Company Safety Manual and Safety Policy.
- Service and calibrate food and confectionery process systems at client sites.
- Handle customer inquiries, provide spare parts, and support installation teams with wiring, modifications, testing, and commissioning.
- Adhere to all departmental procedures, utilising issued PPE and safety equipment as required.
- Follow specific customer site rules at all times and complete any other tasks as requested by management.
Service and Calibration Engineer requirements:
- Technical Skills: Electrical bias; mechanical skills advantageous; PLC knowledge and fault-finding experience.
- Experience: Food industry experience preferred but not essential, Window OS (including office).
- Education: Advanced modern apprenticeship or equivalent; HNC electrical/electronic engineering (ONC minimum).
- Personal Attributes: Good communicator, flexible working attitude, ability to work independently.
- Requiring: reliable commute or relocation, frequent domestic and international travel, and flexibility with overtime and weekend work.
