Job Description

FJA are supporting our client in seeking a Utility Surveyor to join their expert Geospatial team. This is a field-based role where you’ll work on a diverse range of projects, from routine surveys to highly complex assignments. Using state-of-the-art technology, you will play a key role in delivering precise Underground Utility Mapping, Drainage Surveys, and other advanced surveying services across Staffordshire and surrounding areas.

Your Responsibilities will include;

  • As a Utility Surveyor, you will:
  • Lead and support survey projects, ensuring seamless execution and timely delivery.
  • Work alongside senior professionals to deliver high-quality, data-driven solutions.
  • Utilise advanced surveying equipment (Electromagnetic, Ground Penetrating Radar) and software (AutoCAD, Microsoft Office).
  • Follow technical standards and best practices, ensuring compliance with PAS128 and quality guidelines.
  • Identify and escalate operational, safety, and commercial risks proactively.
  • Engage with clients, colleagues, and the public, representing the company professionally.

To Be Successful You Must Have;

  • A QCF Level 3 in Utility Mapping/Surveying, relevant HNC/Diploma, or proven field experience.
  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • The ability to work flexibly, including weekends, nights, and overtime when required.
  • A proactive mindset, with a commitment to health & safety best practices.
