Job Description

FJA are working with a large water utilities company who are recruiting for experienced Validation Technicians who will be responsible for day-to-day leak Validation activities across South London.
 
We are looking for experienced Validation Technician with a strong background in water network operations, data validation, and field investigations.
 
You must have experience working with telemetry systems, data loggers, and GIS mapping tools to support leakage management and network efficiency.
 
Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Validate and analyse flow and pressure data from District Metered Areas (DMAs), loggers, and telemetry systems.
  • Identify abnormal data trends, potential leaks, and faulty meters through detailed analysis.
  • Maintain accurate records of validated data in accordance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Ensure all meter and logger data meets quality and compliance requirements before being uploaded to central systems.
  • Conduct site visits to verify meter accuracy, installation quality, and data logger performance.
  • Carry out flow and pressure checks to confirm network integrity and performance.

Technical Support

  • Liaise with leakage technicians, network engineers, and data analysts to resolve data or equipment issues.
  • Support the delivery of leakage reduction and network performance projects through validated data.
  • Provide technical feedback and recommendations to improve data reliability and network efficiency.

Health, Safety, and Compliance

  • Adhere to all company and industry health and safety procedures.
  • Conduct risk assessments and ensure safe working practices in field and office environments.
  • Maintain and operate company vehicles and equipment responsibly.

Key Skills and Competencies

  • Strong understanding of water distribution systems and DMA principles.
  • Experienced with telemetry, flow, and pressure monitoring systems.
  • Full clean UK Driving Licence
  • Proficient in GIS, data validation tools, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Strong focus on safety, accuracy, and efficiency in all tasks.
