FJA are recruiting on behalf of a leading service provider in the utilities industry for an experienced Flushing Technician to strengthen their team.
Location & Working Hours:
This is a field-based role covering the Swindon area. The working pattern is Monday to Friday.

Flushing Technician role:
- The role involves supporting water quality and network operations activities across the Thames Water network, ensuring compliance with operational and regulatory standards.
- You will assist with planned flushing programmes, valve operations, shut-offs, reconnections and stop tap replacements to help maintain network integrity and water quality.
Flushing Technician responsibilities:
- Carry out planned flushing activities across the water network.
- Support valve operations, shut-offs, reconnections and stop tap replacement works.
- Take and record chlorine and turbidity readings accurately.
- Monitor and maintain water quality standards during operational activities.
- Capture and report operational data promptly and accurately.
- Work closely with field teams, supervisors and client representatives to ensure successful programme delivery.
- Follow all health, safety and environmental procedures while working in live operational environments.
- Respond proactively to changing site conditions and support operational problem-solving where required.
Flushing Technician requirements:
- Experience within water network operations (essential).
- Knowledge of flushing activities, valve operations and stop tap works.
- Understanding of water quality processes and network performance requirements.
- Strong attention to detail with experience recording operational data and field readings.
- Commitment to safe working practices and compliance procedures.
- Excellent communication and team-working skills.
- Ability to work independently and use initiative in field-based environments.
- Relevant water industry training, valve operation certification or similar qualifications (desirable).
- Full UK Driving Licence (essential).
