Location: Burham (Hybrid Working Available)
About the Role
We are seeking an Electrical Project Engineer to join a delivery team within the water sector. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will support the coordination of design, procurement, and construction activities to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and within budget.
You will play a key role in supporting the full project lifecycle, from design and planning through to commissioning and handover, working closely with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients.
Role & Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of projects ensuring costs remain within agreed budgets
- Assist with applications for payment and financial forecasting
- Contribute to contract reviews and monthly reporting
- Support the development and monitoring of project programmes
- Maintain contract documentation and filing systems
- Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams to coordinate works
- Monitor subcontractor performance and progress
- Support procurement and design coordination activities
- Assist in the preparation of O&M manuals and handover documentation
- Contribute to risk and opportunity management processes
- Support the development of safe and efficient engineering solutions
- Assist with project close-out and capitalisation processes
- Ensure compliance with CDM and health & safety regulations
- Maintain strong working relationships with clients and stakeholders
- Work closely with design teams to ensure timely delivery of solutions
- Evaluate innovative solutions and continuous improvement opportunities
- Maintain a professional and proactive approach at all times
Skills & Experience
- Basic engineering background
- HNC (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering
- Working knowledge of NEC or similar contract conditions
- Experience supporting supply chain or procurement activities
- Knowledge of water and/or wastewater treatment processes
- Understanding of CDM and health & safety regulations
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
