FJA are recruiting on behalf of a leading service provider in the wastewater industry for an experienced Project Manager to strengthen their team.
 
Location:  Rickmansworth, hybrid working available

Project Manager role:

  • Reporting directly to the Senior Project Manager or Operations Manager, you will be responsible for delivering predominantly electrical and ICA-led, water-sector projects, with associated civil and mechanical works where required.
  • You will manage projects from conception through to completion, ensuring delivery in line with technical specifications, safety standards, programme requirements, and budgetary constraints.
  • The role involves leading project teams, coordinating resources, and liaising closely with clients, contractors, and suppliers to ensure the successful delivery of projects.

Project Manager responsibilities:

  • Apply detailed knowledge of electrical industry regulations, standards, and best practice throughout the project lifecycle
  • Develop, implement, and manage the Construction Phase Plan in line with statutory and contractual obligations
  • Develop, implement, and manage the Project Quality Plan (PQP) and, where applicable, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs)
  • Develop, implement, and manage the project Health & Safety Plan and Traffic Management Plan, always ensuring full compliance
  • Manage the technical submittals and RFI process in accordance with contract requirements and programme constraints
  • Monitor project and third-party progress against the agreed programme, issuing formal notices and early warnings where required
  • Produce regular progress reports covering Environmental, Health, Safety, Quality, Schedule, and Cost performance
  • Build and sustain strong client relationships, developing trust and long-term partnerships
  • Liaise effectively with all stakeholders across the project team and act as a key interface with the client
  • Procure materials, plant, and equipment in line with the procurement strategy, programme, and approved budgets
  • Manage direct and indirect labour resources, including the appointment and coordination of specialist subcontractors, in line with the programme
  • Manage testing and commissioning activities to achieve agreed project targets and handover dates
  • Control project documentation, including the preparation and delivery of O&M manuals, in line with programme milestones
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing and cohesive project team, identifying and mentoring future talent
  • Ensure electrical safe systems of work are implemented, monitored, and continuously maintained

Project Manager requirements:

  • 5-7 years’ proven experience in Project Management with a recognised electrical trade contractor
  • Demonstrated track record of coordinating and managing large-scale design and build electrical projects
  • Strong experience in labour management, including planning, supervision, and coordination
  • Sound knowledge and practical application of Health & Safety requirements
  • Extensive experience in complex electrical services installations
  • Clear understanding of Factory and Site Acceptance Testing (FAT/SAT) sequencing
  • Thorough knowledge of Electrical Safety Rules and Safe Systems of Work, with the discipline required for commissioning and energisation
