Project Manager / Site Agent Role
- Reporting to the Head of Construction or Operations Manager, you will manage the design, construction, commissioning and handover of projects within the AMP8 programme – You will take responsibility for ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, to specification, within programme and within budget – The role covers water and wastewater infrastructure projects across the North West region – You will manage multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors and suppliers while maintaining strong relationships with both clients and key stakeholders – The successful candidate will ensure delivery excellence across all aspects of project performance including health & safety, quality, commercial management and customer satisfaction
Project Manager / Site Agent Responsibilities
- Promote exceptional safety and high-quality delivery standards across direct and subcontracted workforce – Ensure the Business Management System (BMS) is implemented throughout all stages of project delivery from tender handover through to project completion – Maintain strong working relationships with clients, supply chain partners and joint venture partners – Plan, monitor and control project delivery including reviewing and approving Project Execution Plans (PEPs) – Ensure detailed construction programmes, method statements and risk assessments are in place and approved prior to works commencing – Ensure all project documentation and completion records are maintained and available at handover stage – Identify and manage project non-conformities and associated commercial impacts – Manage all commercial aspects of projects including forecasting, reporting and cost control – Lead multidisciplinary project teams to successfully deliver projects to agreed time, cost and quality targets – Present project updates at governance and review meetings when required – Ensure compliance with CDM regulations and all Health, Safety and Environmental standards – Support continuous improvement and professional development through networking and industry engagement – Maintain an excellent understanding of the technical disciplines associated with water and wastewater design and build projects – Ensure customer requirements and expectations are achieved to maintain strong client satisfaction
Project Manager / Site Agent Requirements
Essential
- Previous Project Management or Site Agent experience delivering multidisciplinary construction and engineering projects, ideally within the water industry – Degree or equivalent qualification in a construction, engineering or commercial discipline – Project Management Qualification (PMQ) or equivalent – Strong knowledge of project delivery from conception through to commissioning and handover – Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, stakeholders and project teams – Ability to manage and motivate multidisciplinary teams to achieve project objectives – Strong commercial awareness and experience managing budgets, forecasts and project risk – Knowledge of construction contracts including NEC and/or IChemE – Working knowledge of CDM regulations and construction Health & Safety legislation – Ability to lead governance and project review meetings
Desirable
- Experience within water and wastewater treatment projects – Chartered status with a recognised engineering, commercial or construction institution – NEC Project Manager Accreditation – Experience managing commissioning and handover activities within utility infrastructure projects
