Site Engineer

Our client is looking to strengthen their delivery team with a Site Engineer working across the Thames Water region. You will play a key role in the delivery of clean water infrastructure projects, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities as a Site Engineer:

• Undertake setting out and surveying activities for clean water trunk main installations and associated infrastructure
• Interpret construction drawings, specifications and technical documentation
• Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with design requirements and client standards
• Coordinate trenching, pipe laying, directional drilling, valve installations and associated civil works
• Resolve site engineering issues in collaboration with design and project teams
• Support commissioning, pressure testing, chlorination and network integration activities
• Maintain accurate site records, quality documentation, inspection records and as-built information
• Coordinate material inspections and verify compliance with project specifications
• Manage non-conformance reporting and corrective actions where required
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental requirements
• Review and implement RAMS and conduct site inspections and audits
• Ensure environmental controls are maintained throughout project delivery

Essential skills:

• HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
• Previous experience delivering water infrastructure projects
• Experience with setting out equipment and surveying techniques
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
• Understanding of pressure testing, chlorination and commissioning processes
• Full UK driving licence
• CSCS Card
• SMSTS or SSSTS
• EUSR Water Hygiene Card

Desirable:

• Experience working on clean water trunk mains projects
• NRSWA Supervisor qualification
• First Aid at Work certification
• Temporary Works Co-ordinator qualification
• Knowledge of water industry standards and utility construction practices
