National Employee Appreciation Day
In any workplace a strong employer/employee relationship is the core of any truly successful business.
It is such an important aspect for management to have a great relationship with their employees, showing appreciation of their teams’ efforts can go such a long way to making workers feel valued.
Staff appreciation is crucial as it enhances teamwork, motivates employees to want to work harder and it also creates longevity amongst your staff, why would you want to leave a workplace where you feel appreciated?
A genuine thank you can mean so much to your staff members, it shows you have recognised their work and that it was worth that extra effort they put in. It is quick, easy, and free to do but can have a big impact.
Today is a day that can also be used to check in on employee well-being.
I think this was emphasized so much more during the pandemic, working from home and being away from teammates was tough, showing employee appreciation during this time was important to keep up morale, and one big difference this year compared to the last two, is that you can thank your employees in person by being able to get together to show your appreciation.
Take your team for a meal, treat them to a coffee, a longer lunch break or let them have an early finish.
National Employee Appreciation Day should be practiced all year round really, but today is a day to really show your staff just how much they mean to the business.
“You can design and create and build the most wonderful place in the world. But it takes people to make the dream a reality.” – Walt Disney
